Staff Wellbeing
The wellbeing and mental health of the staff at Woodsetts Primary School is at the forefront of everything we do. The senior leadership team are committed to prioritising staff workload and ensuring any changes that occur in school take this into consideration. We believe that a happy and content staff leads to better support for our children and therefore a happier and more effective school all rounnd.
As part of this commitment, Mr Ross has been appointed as the school's staff health and wellbeing coordinator. He has also undertaken the DFE Senior Mental Health First Aid Qualification which has given him the skills and knowledge to be able to support staff.
Part of our approach is to have weekly staff circle check ins/outs before the start of the day to see how staff are and if they need any support. We also have a programme of incentives to support staff which include:
- Hidden Hero (Where staff do something nice for another)
- Staff recognition board
- Wellbeing time
- Staff refreshments
- Golden tickets to support with self-led CPD
- Time to attend special events e.g. child's nativity
Each year we undertake staff voice activities to find out how we can further improve our approaches to staff workload and wellbeing.
