Woodsetts Primary School students recently visited the Bloodhound Project exhibit at Magna. The Project centres on BLOODHOUND SSC, a supersonic car that is designed not only to go faster than the speed of sound (supersonic) but to over 1,000mph (1,600km/h)!
During the day, pupils and students toured the full size Bloodhound Show Car and understood the design challenges and science that goes into building a supersonic car. They designed and built their own air-powered rocket cars using K’nex which they tested, modified and then raced in teams. The fastest cars went through to the finals. Below is a message from Mike Ford of the Bloodhound team congratulating one of Woodsetts Primary's teams on their prize of getting their team name on the tail fin of the car!
