PTA News - Autumn 2014
The PTA have just purchased 2 large picnic benches for the children which can be used at playtime and also for 'outdoor learning'/'outdoor classroom'. We have also contributed funds for the purchase of equipment for the Gardening Club and for Foundation baking equipment, AND we have extra kits for sporting activities on order. £75 was raised at the Butcher's Arms Beer Festival event.
Thank you everyone for your hard work.
PTA News - Summer 2014Well done everyone and thank so much for all your hard work. Woodsetts PTA made a healthy £325.85 profit from the May Disco. The money will be spent on outdoor benches for the school playground. The buddy bench is now in situ and looks fantastic.
PTA have purchased book bags and a book that the children will cherish for all the foundation children. We are continuing to support the children of Woodsetts from their first few precious days at Woodsetts to their final cherished memories. The Year 6 Prom is funded entirely by the PTA and this year's celebrations will be better than ever.
Year 5 looked very smart in their new Rugby Kits last week, they came stylishly second so a big thanks for the kits that PTA donated. So far PTA have spent £160.

We are currently liaising with Mr Steadman to buy 2 new sports kits for school. We are also in the process of buying a 'Buddy Bench' and a bench which can be used as part of an outdoor classroom.
We are looking to arrange further fund raising events such as a BBQ with live music in the summer and a Race Night in the Autumn.
If anyone thinks they can help with either or both events please contact the PTA.
Thank you for your continued support.
I would like to update you with information following our latest PTA meeting on Wednesday 13th March.
First and foremost a big thank you to everyone who has supported the PTA by attending school discos, attending the Christmas Fayre. All of these events have been very well attended and raised money for the children.
PTA are going to use the money raised at the last Disco to purchase new Playground equipment for lunch times. This has been chosen by the Mid-day supervisors and will be ordered as soon as possible.
PTA are also in the process of placing an order for 100 high visibility vests for the children to use when they go on school visits to help ensure the children are safe when on educational visits. They have been ordered in 3 different sizes and will have the school name printed across the back.
PTA are in need of more volunteers. There are currently 9 members not including teaching staff who regulary attend meetings and work extremley hard to ensure discos,Fayres and Year 6 leavers ball/evenings etc are successfully run. Howver, with such a small group it is becoming increasingly difficult to oragansie such events. We are desperately seeking support from new memebrs who would be willing to atend meetings and help organsise events or if you can not attend meetings be willing to support with some of the organsisation of events, e.g at Christmas organising a tombola and sticking raffle tickets onto prizes etc.
If you have any good ideas for fundrasing events we would love to hear from you.
Who We Are
The Parent Teacher Association is a small group of parents and staff who volunteer time to help the school in a variety of ways. Anyone who is interested and has children attending the school (including Foundation 1) can join the PTA.
What We Do
The PTA exists to support the Children and Staff of Woodsetts Primary School. We organise events throughout the school year. Some are aimed at the children (termly Discos), some at the whole family.
Most aim to raise funds which are then used within the school for various purposes:
- Purchasing Classroom Equipment
- Supporting special events and trips
- Supporting IT projects
- Providing Play equipment
To date this includes £500 towards games and activities for indoor playtimes, £300 for cooking equipment and rescources and £1000 towards the purchase of IT equipment. We have also pledged to donate money towards the purchase of items for James Memorial Garden and to arrange the year 6 Leavers Prom.
