School Admissions, Transfers and Appeals

Children are normally expected to attend the school in whose catchment area they live although parents do have a right to express a preference for an alternative school. The school's current admission policy is operated by the LA on the school's behalf and as such any requests for admission will require LA approval.

Parents whose child transfers from another school will need to complete a Primary Transfer Form. Parents of any new admission are always welcome to visit the school prior to any applications being made, please contact the Head teacher to arrange such visits. When a child is registered for admission to school the child's birth certificate must be shown to the Head teacher.

Admission authorities will try to meet parental preferences where they can, but because there are limits on the number of places available at each school, it is not always possible to do so.

Where a school is oversubscribed, places will be allocated by reference to the Local Authority admission criteria or an admission policy. The Head teacher will be pleased to advise parents seeking admission for their children.

Admission Arrangements

If you wish to consider applying for your child to attend the school, you are very welcome to visit. The head teacher will be happy to show you round and answer any questions you may have. If you telephone the school on 01909 550758, the office staff will be happy to make an appointment for you.

Admission to Foundation Stage 1 Applications for a F1 place are made directly to the school. Children who are successful in gaining a place will then be allocated a part time place, attending a morning session.
Admission to Foundation Stage 2 Children will be allocated a full time F2 place at the beginning of the Autumn term following their 4th birthday (Children must be aged 4 by 31st August prior to this). The Local Authority will contact you to ask your preference of school.
Admissions from Year 1 to 6 The first step is to contact the School Admissions section at Rotherham Local Authority (LA) who will send you the forms you need to officially transfer your child. Then approach the school to arrange a look around. If you are still interested after your visit, you should fill in the transfer forms and return them to the LA.
